back to our roots: a river in a time of dryness
Let me re-phrase that:
I [heart] blogging.
Why haven’t I been doing it then?
I honestly don’t know.
But what I do know is that there are a lot of bloggers out there who are in the same boat.
We have found ourselves in the middle of a blogging-drought!
Blog after blog has succumbed to the inevitable blog-fade.
Some blame Twitter. Others blame busy schedules. And some (with a little help) are finding solutions.
So what do we do? How do we stay in the game and avoid blog-fade?
It’s my strong opinion that blogs are important to the internet tubes and we must get back to the excitement and wonder that drew us to the blogosphere in the first place.

PS: I also agree that most (not all) blogs are no longer needed as twitter is sufficient in many cases.

In addition to my apologising for not blogging as much, I’ve been trying to post a little bit through the current lunacy…even if it’s just short (not Twitter short, but short) updates on where it’s at.
…I got two turntables and a microphone…

Argh I’m so struggling with what to do! I’ve been thinking of the guest blogging route as well. Life’s gotten wicked busy with kids and band and the rest of normal life
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one though. Honestly, what’s even harder than keeping my blog up to date is keeping up with everyone else’s! Geez. Sometimes I feel that by the time I do finally get around to it that I’m irrelevant to the conversation.
We still are talking about people trying not to succumb to the blog fade right?
Did he say he had 2 turntables and a microphone? I have a mic. I’d like a turntable! I have a shirt that says, “I rock the mic like a vandal!” It’s red. Hey is that a red hummer in your flickr flash boxes up there?…

It’s actually a tricked out van. Pretty sweet. I think this convo has switched to blog-ADD. hahaha
I hope blogging continues to grow. It allows us a personal voice to the author. Gives a place to discuss or just share our opinion. I think that is good.

Mark…couldn’t agree more. One thing I’ve noticed is I am more interested in blogging when people are talking back. Maybe we are guilty of reading but not taking time to respond to those blogs that provoke and interest us. Would you be more encouraged to blog more often if that were the case? For me the answer is yes! and I’m guilty of reading and not responding as well…sigh

My problem is, much like in a prayer life, the longer I spend away, the more I feel the need to “catch up,” like my first post back needs to be extraordinary to make up for lost time. The less I blog, the harder it becomes.

Anyway, summer – December to Feb…although it would appear winter in Sydney = summer in Portland anyway.
If social media were left up to Australians, it would never have happened you know, since we’re at the beach all day…pondering where it’s at, with our dual turntables and microphones…I actually heard that song in a bookstore tonight. Weird.
